Homework in New York
November 11, 2008
I missed the class October 22nd because I was in New York with my family then, so I´ve got one homework and it was to visit MoMA, The Museum of Modern Art. I like to visit museum with art, especially if it is modern art. I´m a fan of paintings that include lines, bars and squares. I like when it isn´t possible to see what the painting should describe, and were I can use my own fantasize. Two artists with this kind of art that I really liked were Piet Mondrian and Franz Kline.
The third floor includes among others design and architecture. And I thought this part was quite fun because I found a design from my home country. It was the invention Self-Alingning Ball Bearing done by the Swede Sven Wingquist.
One highlight was to see art painted of Andy Warhold and Roy Liechtenstein. I have always seen this both men´s paintings in books and magazines, so it was amazing to stand in front of those.
Two other famous artists were Salvador Dali and Picasso. They have also made lots of work which have been really famous, and it was fun because direct when I saw a painting/sculpture I could immediately recognize their “style”.
Here are some pictures from my visit.
